Full-Day Mount St. Helens Adventure from Portland

Start early with pickup in downtown Portland and drive into Washington State’s volcanic country. On this full-day excursion you’ll explore the region around Mount St. Helens: a naturalist guide will lead you through lava tube caves, show you old-growth forest trails, and take you to viewpoints of the blast zone and crater (weather permitting).

Lunch, head-lamps for cave exploration, bottled water and snacks are included, so you can focus on the experience rather than logistics. The day blends geology, ecology and nature immersion: learn how the eruption shaped the landscape, how life is returning, and enjoy the solitude of a wild place.

Bring flexible layers (mountain weather can vary), sturdy shoes for trails and cave entry, and of course a camera.
