Silver Falls Waterfall Hiking Tour
Portland (Oregon), United States
Depart from downtown Portland (meeting point at 833 SE Main St) and travel about one hour through the Willamette Valley to Silver Falls State Park, known as Oregon’s “crown jewel” of state parks.
Once in the park you’ll hike on the basalt-lined canyon trails amid moss-covered trees, wildflowers (seasonal), and cascading waterfalls. Depending on group pace and preference, you may cover 3-8 miles (about 5-13 km) and visit 4-6 waterfalls, including those you can walk behind.
Your guide will share insights into the park’s geology, forest ecology, native species, and the history of the land. Snacks and bottled water are included; lunch can be purchased at the on-site café if desired.
The walking pace is moderate, the trails are well-maintained though include ups and downs and stairs, so a basic fitness level is recommended. After the hike you’ll return to Portland, enriched by the natural beauty and forest calm.
