Day Trip Around Copenhagen
Copenhagen, Denmark
Set out around 9:15 a.m. from central Copenhagen (hotel pickup included) and embark on a roughly 8 hour 45 minute journey through Danish history and culture. You’ll begin in the town of Roskilde, stopping at the striking Roskilde Cathedral (the burial place of many Danish royals) followed by entry into the Viking Ship Museum to explore fascinating Viking artifacts and maritime heritage.
Then you’ll move on to the magnificent Frederiksborg Castle, where you’ll have time - around 2 h 15 m including a lunch stop - to wander grand halls, ornate rooms, and scenic gardens. The journey culminates at Kronborg Castle (aka “Hamlet’s Castle”) in Elsinore, where your guide will bring to life Shakespeare’s play and the castle’s role in Danish history.
Entrance fees, transport in an air-conditioned minivan, bottled water, WiFi onboard, and a maximum group size of 16 people are included. While the pace is busy and involves walking and stairs (not ideal for travellers with mobility challenges), it’s a rich, curated day of discovery outside the city.
